Palo Santo means “holy wood”. Bursera graveolens is a wild-growing tree found naturally in Mexico to Peru and belongs to the same plant family as frankincense and myrrh. The tree releases a natural, aromatic and hypoallergenic resin, whose fragrance and character deepen and become more concentrated over time.
Our Palo Santo has been carefully selected. It has a more intense and fuller fragrance than many others we have previously experienced – and for that very reason, we simply couldn’t resist bringing it home.
In California, Julie Boye-Hansen owner of Kombucha Time met a man from Ecuador who was selling Palo Santo. After lighting a piece in a hotel in Ojai – a small and very peaceful town – the scent slowly filled the room. In that moment, she knew it had to come home with her.
